Practical, Durable and Beautiful!. This jug blender has been designed with aesthetics in mind as well as practicality and durability. I tend to keep most of my occasionally used kitchen appliances stored away when not in use, but alongside my essential kettle, toaster and breadmaker, this blender has found its place, because it is so well designed and it looks so stylish. Shiny black, polished chrome and glass are clean and would look great in virtually any kitcheni have always used the blender jug on my food processor to make smoothies and soups (the main purpose of blenders for me), but have found that the plastic jugs suffer from my impatience when i want to blend my piping hot soups and often show the strain sooner than i'd expect - but with a tough glass jug, this blender is made of sterner stuff. The titanium coated blades are also very reassuring - i feel like there isn't too much that i couldn't blend in here - but so far the toughest challenge i have set it are ice cubes - which it blitzed without any trouble (although make no mistake - it's a noisy thing to do, no matter what equipment you are using!)the practicality of washing the blender's parts has been well thought out and of course it is dishwasher-proof, which for me is vital, so that any dried on bits of fruit and veg are taken care of after the hard work of preparing the food is done - without me having to scrub this clean at the sink. Being able to remove the blades is clever - i've long wanted to be able to do this with my old blender, as this is where the food gets stuck most often. The colour dial - a different colour on the dial for each speed, for me this is a bit of fun and my children think it is wonderful. Personally i don't really need it to check that i'm blending at the right level - i just look at the dial or use my ears to hear if it sounds right. Having said that - it's a cheerful, fun, good-looking element and i wouldn't remove it - i just don't think it adds anything for me on a practical level. .
